Lu Flux
As LFW 2012 is getting closer, I (and I'm sure all the other bloggers) are madly working through the backlog in their archives in order to get all the photos out before the new season hits us. The trouble with shooting at fashion weeks is that you take hundreds and hundreds of shots per day! and sometimes it takes me forever to get to certain shots. I'm glad I got to this one though!
I spotted Lu as she was exiting the LFW Exhibition, it was raining and no one really wanted their photo taken on this yukky rainy day. I convinced Lu to pose under the rain so I could take a shot of her beautiful coat which I think is so special!
As we started chatting, I found out that Lu was the designer behind the Lu Flux brand which is in my view one of the most creative and fresh brands out there today. Lu's designs are like no other and what makes it better is that her brand is ethical. Every piece in her collection, from dresses to shoes, has its own story.
Later that week I had the pleasure of attending Lu's AW2011 presentation, which was so different from any other fashion event on the LFW calendar - chilled out atmosphere, friendly PR ladies (I didnt realise that type even existed ;P) and a band to fit the mood of her "Sea & Be Seen" collection. If you ever get to see Lu's amazing pieces 'in person' you will no doubt notice and appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into her work. Check out Lu Flux website here.
And here are some photos from the presentation (btw I love love loved the organic rose lip balm in the goody bag):

Feather skirts...
I shot this picture in Paris earlier this year and ever since then I have been trying to find a feather skirt because I just love how in this case it spiced up an otherwise all black outfit. So a few months back, I travelled to Rome with a friend of mine and in one of tiny shops there I discovered a wonderful mocha colour feather skirt. I ended up buying the skirt but havent actually worn it yet because every time I was going to wear it, it just seemed too dressy for the occasion. Anyway, to my great disappointment, last week I walk into Zara... only to see stacks of feather skirts in various bright colours.... And there I was, thinking I was special... I guess good things catch on!

Gypsy Bride
A few weeks ago I got together with the beautiful Aleksandra from Jeliza-Rose blog. We spent a few hours at Hampstead Heath and it was a ridiculously hot day but we went ahead with the shoot anyway. I wish we started shooting a bit later in the day because the sun was very strong and the photos ended up with very harsh shadows. Aleksandra styled this shoot and picked this gorgeous dress from Monsoon and the jewellery from Topshop.
I really struggled with post-production for this shoot (as I still dont use Photoshop). The originals were very rich in colour and I felt like it was a bit much. After playing around with the hues and colours for a while I ended up with this.
Let me know what you think!
